Hacker News article HackerNews, an alternative news aggregator, has found a new addition to its list of scams, one that has become increasingly popular with India’s young.
In its latest update, the site has added the story of a young man who was accused of running a massive, multi-million dollar botnet in India.
The scam was first reported by the tech news outlet TechCrunch.
The scam was run by a former employee of the Indian software firm Infosys who worked in India from 2011 to 2015.
Infosy has denied any wrongdoing.
The botnet was so big, it was able to steal the identities of millions of people in India, according to a report from the Indian newspaper TechCrunch last month.
A group of hackers, called Team Zero, is alleged to have been responsible for running the botnet.
The group has claimed responsibility for running multiple botnets across multiple countries.
Some of those are believed to have stolen personal data from over 200 million people.
