Posted September 28, 2018 09:58:52In the wake of a deadly clash between police and pro-independence supporters in Pampangangan, police have taken to social media to urge the public to come forward and report any threats to the local government or to Pampaganga.
“We have asked our community to come out and report anyone who is sending any threats.
We also want to make sure that there are no provocateurs and no ones behind this,” Senior Superintendent of Police Datuk Seri Ibrahim Mohamed said.
The police are also asking for any footage of the clash, footage of any violence that took place, and any information that might help in the investigation.
A Facebook page called Pampangan Rising has already attracted more than 3,000 likes.
Last year, Pampambangan was the site of the deadliest clash between pro-separatist protesters and police in the country’s history.
Since then, the town has been under the control of local pro-Indonesian political party Bersih.
